MARS Bio-Med Processes Inc. (“MARS”) Limited Warranty Policy

At MARS, we believe you will be pleased with all your MARS products. Please read this Warranty carefully.

MARS warrants the LibertyBOSS to be free from manufacturing defects including original parts and workmanship for a period of up to three (3) years from the date of original purchase (or to the end of its service life, whichever comes first).

Should you find the LibertyBOSS unit is not working properly during the terms of full coverage of this Warranty, MARS will provide one of the following options (at MARS’ discretion), providing the manufacturing defect is verified along with the date of purchase:

  • MARS will have a trained technician assess the problem and repair it if possible; or,
  • Replacement of your defective unit with either a new or equivalent model at no charge (Service life end date will remain the same).

Customer’s Obligations

During a customer’s requested warranty inspection, should our Technician prove that non-warranty issues exist with the LibertyBOSS, service charges will apply.

Proper maintenance within the terms of the Warranty includes the use of PowerLINZ daily and CleanLINZ quarterly dental evacuation line cleaner or an approved equivalent (with a non-foaming and a neutral pH between 6 and 8).

Use of chlorine-based evacuation line cleaners will nullify the Warranty and damage the biotechnology capability of the LibertyBOSS separator.

This Warranty is void if the LibertyBOSS is:

Damaged through improper maintenance, negligence, abuse, misuse, accident, or acts of God or has been opened, modified or repaired by anyone other than a MARS approved technician or their expressly authorized representative;

  • Damage resulting from improper connection to equipment of other manufacturers;
  • Operated outside of environmental specifications for the product, including unauthorized evacuation line asepsis products.

This Warranty does not cover:

  • Costs incurred in the shipping of the product to MARS Bio-Med Processes Inc., nor costs related to customs, taxes, tariffs, insurance, etc.
  • Possible minor adjustments to the product which can be performed by the customer (i.e. minor tightening of screw clamps).

MARS is responsible for the freight charges only for the return of the equipment from the factory to the customer.

No other warranty is expressed or implied. MARS Bio-Med Processes Inc. specifically disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for any particular purpose or use.

This Warranty is non-transferable and applies solely to the original purchase and installation and does not extend to subsequent owners of the LibertyBOSS (unless MARS has been informed of the change of ownership). The extent of MARS’ liability under this limited warranty is the repair or replacement provided above at the sole discretion of MARS Bio-Med Processes Inc..

In no event shall MARS’ liability exceed the purchase price paid by the purchaser. Under no circumstances shall MARS Bio-Med Processes be liable for any loss, direct, indirect, incidental, foreseen, unforeseen, special or consequential damage arising out of or in connection with the use of this product, whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

New guidelines have been issued by the US Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) regarding amalgam separators used in dental offices. Enforcement began July 14th, 2017.

The MARS LibertyBOSS technology has been reviewed in an independent study,* which found it to be the “Best Available Technology” in the Amalgam Separator industry and “the only unit that is capable of removing both solid and dissolved mercury from the environment” within the dental wastewater discharge to the sewer system.

The LibertyBOSS technology, if properly installed, maintained (1, 2, or 3 years) and used by a dental office, will assure the dental office discharge will be acceptable to the local Publicly Owned Waste Treatment (“POWT”) plant.

If the LibertyBOSS’ technology should fail to meet or exceed the respective regulations due to MARS’ technology shortcomings, MARS Bio-Med (“MARS”) will make the appropriate adjustments to the LibertyBOSS, as further described on MARS’ website. If the LibertyBOSS’ technology should fail due to a larger volume of amalgam waste produced or another distinctive feature of the dental office, MARS will suggest additional M.A.R.S’ technology products to assure compliance.

Please note that the use of a non-foaming, neutral pH evacuation line cleaner (between 6-8 pH) such as the MARS LINZ 3 Pack, must be regularly used to assure compliance.

This Guarantee of Compliance is subject to MARS’ LIMITED WARRANTY terms and conditions as set out in greater detail above.
