How is the lifespan determined, and do I need a system if I do not use amalgam?

Yes, most jurisdictions strictly mandate the use of an amalgam separator even if your practice does not actively place or remove amalgam waste.
The service lifespan of the LibertyBOSS™ is determined by your facility's active operatory count: 1–3 chairs last up to 3 years, 4–9 chairs last up to 2 years, and 10–16 chairs last up to 1 year.
To track your specific replacement timeline, please review the installation date marked directly on your unit's attached service life sticker.

What maintenance is required, and can the unit be opened?

The LibertyBOSS™ is a factory-sealed, completely maintenance-free hardware system. Clinical staff should only perform periodic external checks on the hose connections to verify they are tightly sealed.
Under no circumstances should the unit be opened by untrained or unauthorized personnel. Opening the system risks exposure to bio-hazardous material and instantly voids all manufacturer warranties.

Who can install the LibertyBOSS™, and how long does the setup take?

Anyone with basic mechanical aptitude can quickly install the system by following the step-by-step instructions included upon delivery, or you can contact your current dental service technician. Servicing or swapping out an existing LibertyBOSS™ takes just 10–15 minutes, while replacing a traditional canister separator style entirely takes up to 1 hour depending on your plumbing layout.

How often should evacuation lines be cleaned, and can I use bleach?

No, never use bleach, as it releases bound mercury from old waste into the environment; only use non-foaming, compliant solutions. We recommend performing line maintenance daily using PowerLINZ line cleaner, strictly following the manufacturer instructions detailed on the product label. Contact our office or email info@marsbiomed.com for an approved list of safe and effective evacuation line cleaners.

What is the return and recycling process for an exhausted LibertyBOSS™?

To initiate the compliant recycling process, complete your form on our LibertyBOSS Registration Page, or fill out the physical warranty card included with your new system and email it to info@marsbiomed.com (or fax to 905-723-9610).
Our team will generate and send you a prepaid UPS shipping label along with an official certificate of compliance. Simply affix the prepaid label to the shipping box containing your old unit and contact UPS to arrange a pickup.
